8 TQM PRINCIPLES:

Some people look upon ISO 9000 as the first step toward achieving business excellence. Perhaps the new guidance document ISO 9004:2000 will become a useful second step towards achieving a more comprehensive QMS based on the business excellence model. This, in turn, might lead on to an organization competing for a quality award. However, another equally -acceptable path to a quality award might exclude both the standard and the new guidance documents.

ISO 9004:2000 is intended to take an organization beyond ISO 9001 towards the development of a comprehensive QMS which improves an organization overall quality performance. it is based on eight quality management principles:
1- Customer focus.
2- Leadership.
3- Involvement of people.
4- Process approach.
5- System approach to management.
6- Continual improvement.
7- Factual approach to decision.
8- Mutually-beneficial supplier relationship.

CEMarking :

CE Marking is evidence that suppliers of products placed on the single market are responsible for the conformity of those products to all provisions of the applicable community directives.

It indicates that the product conforms to the relevant essential requirements, and that it has been subject to the appropriate conformity assessment procedures.

The essential requirements cover, in principle, public interests that member states are allowed to protect, such as health, safety, consumer interest, and protection of environment.

CE Marking indicates that those interests of the member states have been taken into account, and that member states must not restrict the placing on the market, and putting into service of CE Marking products.

CE Marking can be introduced in community legislation as legal conformity marking if the method of total harmonization is used, and the directive contains conformity assessment procedures according to the Modules Decision.
